Harlan Buettner, the owner of Performance Roofing Systems, grew up in the construction business working with his family’s roofing and construction company in Nebraska. Beginning at the age of fourteen, he gained firsthand experience working at all levels of building and installation. This experience taught him what makes a building function properly, from framing structure, and ventilation, and insuring it stays leak free. His experience includes sloped and flat roofs and extends beyond roofing to general construction, building houses, and remodeling.
Later in life, Harlan spent a number of years as a Pastor. His construction experience was utilized there as well, leading building projects at the different churches where he served. Harlan and his family moved to Oklahoma in 1982 and spent many years in the Greater Oklahoma City area. He and his wife Jennifer are both graduates of Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma. His ministry took him to other areas of the county but he retained ownership of his Oklahoma property, planning to one day return to his first love, construction. In 2010, Harlan and his wife fulfilled their dream of moving back to the Greater Oklahoma City area to be near their son Ryan and return to the construction business.
Harlan believes that ethics, values, and trust still matter and focuses on serving his customers. He has now had the privilege of having many repeat customers, a testimony to his customer service and quality. He is recognized by insurance adjusters and insurance companies as an honest and reputable roofing and construction contractor. He has been called on by roofing companies as a consultant to diagnose roofing issues that they could not resolve. He regularly does inspections for realtors and insurance companies and attorneys, testifying to his knowledge.
Performance Roofing Systems was recently granted the exclusive rights for the State of Oklahoma for Tritoflex seamless rubber roof system, made by Triton Incorporated. Tritoflex is a revolutionary waterproofing system that supersedes all other flat roofing systems in leak protection and warranty. It has the best hail and wind ratings in the industry, an important ingredient for a hail and wind-prone area like Oklahoma. Its warranty is not affected by water ponding, structural movement, or foot traffic like other roof systems, and is a green product. Because it is a liquid rubber that is sprayed onto any thickness, it can be installed over almost any existing roof system without a disruptive and invasive tear-off. It does not require the disconnect and removal of air conditioners and other roof equipment, enabling a business to function without interruption while the roof is being installed.
Harlan is an avid car enthusiast. He owns a 1988 twin-turbo Mustang and a 2006 supercharged Roush Mustang and enjoys attending car events with his son Ryan, who owns a 2003 supercharged Mustang Cobra.
